Engine and Performance

The GAC Aion Y engine comprises a single electric motor at the front. The powertrain produces 181 hp and 225 Nm of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds.

The vehicle offers several battery options, each with different range and performance levels. The choices include a 60 kWh, 70 kWh, and 80 kWh pack. The ranges vary from 460 km, 500 km, to 600 km.

Other GAC Aion Y specifications include quick charging support up to 80 kW with DC fast chargers. It also supports 6.6 kW AC charging. The battery has a special design that looks like a magazine, and it is cooled with a three-dimensional system.

Safety

For safety, the car is equipped with six airbags and stability control. The top-tier Premium model adds driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control with stop and go, autonomous emergency braking, and lane-centring help. It also includes a 360-degree camera and reverse sensors. The vehicle uses second-generation crash energy absorption tech for added safety.

Features and Specifications

The GAC Aion Y interior has a clean, horizontal dashboard with faux-leather seats. There’s a centre console shaped like a table, ideal for holding cups and small items. The car boasts a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a six-speaker Bongiovi audio system.

Comfort and convenience are priorities in the Aion Y. It has cruise control, keyless entry and start, auto climate control with rear air vents. It also gets a six-way electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, a large panoramic sunroof, and rear seats that split 60:40.
